Apparently, showing face around town in a fake pair of Chanel (or your brand of choice) sunglasses means there is a chance you are much more likely than those who do not wear knockoffs to lie. The University of South Carolina performed a study where everyone was given a pair of  $300 designer sunglasses. Half of the people in the study were told there were real, and the other half were told they had fakes. Then each participant was given a test to take and was told that they would be paid for each correct answer.

But here is the kicker. The participants were allowed to grade their own tests.
The people with the authentic sunglasses cheated 30% of the time while those in the study with the knockoff cheated 71% of the time. The test takers thought that it would be anonymous but the exams were coded! HA!
So it seems, that if you feel like a fraud in your fakes, you are more likely to commit fraud according to Psychological Science.How do you feel about fakes? Would you wear a knockoff anything?Can I tell you a secret? I have a knockoff Louis Vuitton speedy from the Stephen Sprouse collection. I didn’t get it with the intent to pass it off as fake. I was told that you shouldn’t carry a real Louis bag in the summer, and I thought the knockoff would be a cute alternative.I have carried it once. I am not brave enough to wear it. I think I am going to give it to my friend who doesn’t have an issue toting around fakes. I just can’t do it.
