Anyone with stylish friends knows that the rule of thumb when going out is to check and see what everyone else is wearing. Turns out, famous friends to that too before award shows.

Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry each text each other before showing up on red carpets to avoid any fashion mishaps.

Rihanna recounted an incident to a UK newspaper where she and BFF Katy Perry almost had a fashion face-off:

“Katy and I speak all the time about what we’re going to wear. And Gaga. One time we were going the Met Ball and Katy phoned me to check. We were like Oh My God, we were both going in this dress by Dolce & Gabbana with Marilyn Monroe’s face all over it. She was like, ‘You can’t. I’ve had my nails done in mink and it matches the dress.’ I thought, seeing as she’d gone to all that effort, I’d let her wear it.”

Somehow, this isn’t surprising. They all do tend to push the limit when it comes to fashion. So it would be wise to make sure that no one is pushing the limit in the same dress as you.
