He Said I Look Like a Viking?!

Have you ever gotten something, an item of clothing, and we’re so excited to wear it that you wore it around the house? That was me with this vest.I wore it on a Skype date with The Boy, who proceeded to laugh and laugh and laugh at me. He said that I looked like a Viking (have you seen the movie How To Train Your Dragon? Like the little boy, smh). This is not the first time that he had a good laugh at the expense of my clothing. He doesn’t understand my love of over-the-knee boots, scarves inside because it is part of my outfit, and my wedge mules. Oh wait, it was my brother that didn’t understand the mules.I know that it’s not me because every item that The Boy/my brother laughed at me for I have gotten quite a few compliments– from women. I can’t help but wonder (haha, Carrie Bradshaw moment!) if perhaps writer behind the blog,Man Repellent was on to something.

She recently penned an article for Harper’s Bazaar asking if you can still be in fashion and still get a man (or have a man get your sense of style)? There are obviously some trends that men hate: gladiator sandals, harem pants, and clearly, faux fur vests. The writer muses that she can’t keep a man because of her avant-garde sense of style, and I’m not sure that I agree with this. The Boy likes me even though he doesn’t always understand my fashion choices, and, likes to poke fun.Which leads me to the creation of a new series, Boy’s Just Don’t Understand! So look out for outfit of the day posts with especially hilarious commentary from the men in my life.

What say you? Is there any validity to this argument?

Oh, and p.s, where did the warm weather go? Has it really been that long since my last outfit of the day post? The leaves on the plants are changing colors! Not to mention it is a little nippy!
