Today I felt pretty snazzy. My hair looked good, my nails haven’t chipped and my skin’s been tame.

Recently, in my search for the perfect red lips, I bought L’Oreal Infallible Lipcolour in Beyonce’s Red.

So obviously because everything else was cooperating, I thought today would be a good day to test run the color. I filmed a Centric Beauty Minute and took outfit of the day pics. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t hot.

That is until I stepped away from my laptop and went out for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner with my mom and brother.

“What’s with you and this red lipstick?” My brother asked me. “It looks like something for a stripper.”

“Yeah, it is pretty bright,” my mom chimes in.

“And that vest thing— it looks like a llama’s butt. No, more like a raccoon or a squirrel’s butt.”

“It looks like if you were going out at night, it would be perfect,” my mom goes still talking about my lips.

Now you see why I had to work up my nerve to wear it out of the house?

What really needs to be addressed though is why does this kid know what a llama/raccoon/squirrel’s butt looks like? And what does he know about stripper lips? Hmmm?

You know what though? That’s OK. They are entitled to their opinions. They do things I don’t agree with either, but it’s their style and I let them have at it.

I’m trying to find my style so I will try things that may not always be popular but as long as I like them, I don’t care what you think.

I like my lips.
