Perfectly Polished: Essie French Affair

Perfectly Polished: Essie French Affair

Sometimes I like to pretend that I am in Paris in a chic eatery, reading FrenchVogue while my manicured hand is shoveling dessert crapes in my mouth after a long day of shopping. That’s my idea of a French affair.

But for now, wearing stripes and wrapping scarves around my neck just so will have to do. Oh, and Essie’s Coat Azure, part of Essie’s A French Affair collection.

This is Essie Weingart’s first collection since she sold her brand to L’Oreal. I wondered how the sell would affect the polish, and I hoped the formula wouldn’t change.I bought this polish at Rite-Aid, and as far as I can tell the formula hasn’t changed. There are just a few minor superficial differences.

The bottle now has slightly tacky white lettering on one side and the name of the polish on a sticker on top of the bottle.

The polish at Rite-Aid with the slight differences was (not much) cheaper than had I bought it at a salon or Ulta. That makes me happy though that the salon bottles haven’t changed. But yay for being more accessible!

And my version of my French Affair. One day, I will make that a reality. But for now, I’ll always have Coat Azure.
