09 Sep Red Carpet Manicure Treated Me Like a Star
On Wednesday, I got my nails ‘did’ by celebrity manicurist, Elle. She spilled to me how Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Beyonce, Katie Perry and Rihanna all get their nails glam’d up for the red carpet– Red Carpet Manicure’s new (and not to mention, the first at-home professional salon) gel nail polish.
When this email popped up in my inbox, I was all over this. You know how I am about my nails. Besides, I was intrigued. Gel nails? That I could do myself? To be completely honest, I was a little iffy about the whole process. I wasn’t sure that I would like gels because to me, they were too much like acrylics, which I’m not a fan of.
I’m so happy to report that they aren’t like that at all! The process was super easy and if you can neatly paint your nails, you can do this. The best part, there were no super harsh smells. I’m not sure why I expected any to begin with though.
I couldn’t stop staring at my nails after, they’re so sparkly.
Prep your nails using the Max Adhension Sanitizer ($3.99)
Use the Structure Base ($9.99), then stick your nails under the LED light. Apply your choice of LED Gel Nail Polish ($9.99), stick nails back under the LED light.
Moisture your cuticles (3.99), and the wipe off the excess residue with the Pre and Post Application Cleanser ($3.99).I found this YouTube video that makes the process pretty clear:
You can buy each step individually or you can buy a starter kit. The starter kit with the professional LED Light is $79.99, while the battery operated LED portable light starter kit is $59.99.
The best part? You can get this product at Ulta, and they always have a coupon if you’re subscribed to their circular.
The nails are supposed to last 7 to 21 days. I’ll update you how I’m doing.
Though this will be struggle, I have nail polish ADD as you know.
