03 May 5 Style Lessons Courtesy of Cameron Diaz
Here on The City, we are all about cultivating personal style, luckily, we can look to some of our favorite celebrities for a few style lessons.
I have such a crush on Cameron Diaz. I mean, she’e always been cute but for some reason, I’m just noticing how cute and stylish she is. It’s like she isn’t allowed to take a role that isn’t well dressed.I will watch the most random movies as long as she’s in it and I can take note of what she’s wearing. For instance, What Happens In Vegas is a movie that I will watch ever single time it’s on. I finally saw Bad Teacher and loved it–of course–but it just cemented my theory that she is always just as well dressed on the big screen as she is off.
In fact, there are five style lessons that we can take from Cameron’s style.
1. Don’t Be Afraid of Denim.
Jeans have gotten such a bad rap, lately. I feel like everyone blames them for society’s over-casualness–is that a word??. But Cameron has shown us that we can wear them and still looked polished. Just be mindful of the wash and fit, choosing what works best for your life and body.
2. Splash On Some Color.
Cameron isn’t afraid to pull on some color for a fun pop. I love the way she throws on a bright scarf or lip to brighten up a look that would have been otherwise drab. Plus, that’s so now.
3. Casual Tops
Aren’t Always So Bad.One of my favorite things about Cameron is that she toes between causal and dressy without trying to hard. She’ll pair casual tanks or shirts with something slightly dressier for a fun oxymoronic look that I like.
4. Go All Out Fem.
When given the chance to dress up, Cameron usually reminds us that she is a girl despite all the casual tanks and shirts and however many times she wears jeans. She cleans up nice I would say, wouldn’t you?
5. She’s Not Afraid Of Shoe-cide.
The first thing that I noticed about Cameron’s style was her shoes. I forget the movie she was in, but I remember seeing the red sole of her shoes. She clearly had my heart then. But nothing has changed, she still has a meaaan shoe game.
Cameron Diaz is the epitome of laid back chic to me. She never seems to try to hard. Her makeup and hair are usually natural save for a bold lip. And I love that about her.
