Now Trending: Window Pane Print

Now Trending: Window Pane Print

Is it too early to talk about Spring trends? No? Perfect. Because Sunday afternoon I was flipping through magazines when one trend in particular caught my eye. The window pane print is, according to Lucky magazine, going to be huge this Spring. I could have sworn that I knew this trend but by a different name, and while that still hasn’t come to me (there’s nothing new under the sun though, right?), I do know where I have seen this trend.

The leader of the fashion world. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is what you would call an early adopter, hehe. Or maybe we saw it on her as she made the rounds during the Spring 2012 fashion shows in Paris and Milan. Did you catch that? She was wearing this trend to Spring 2012 shows, which would have been September 2011. Two-whole years ago and it’s just now trickling down to us peasants.

Kidding, totally kidding, if I could wear Marni Fall 2011 dresses fresh off the runway, I most certainly would. And I’d pack every single piece in the collection I loved, which in Anna’s case are even more Marni window pane print dresses. I mean, she could look a little bit more amused than she does below, wouldn’t you say?

So what say you ladies? Yay or nay to the window pane print? Is Lucky right? Is this what we will be wearing come Spring?

Oh! You know who has a cute take on the window pane print? Web Haute Jas! She created window panes on her nails. Isn’t that fun? Wait ’till you see it, it’s really cute.

And wouldn’t you know, I still can’t think of what we used to call the ‘window pane print.’

      Thank you! Same to you!

I can’t yay yet as despite Anna looking well put together i’m currently not buying into the trend but who knows the high street may bring us more wearable pieces and my mind could change…
window panes remind me of checks…

I know what you mean, I think the panes would have to be smaller since I’m small and I’d look like I’m a walking checker board. But like you said, there may be more wearable pieces in our future.

      Happy New Year, Christy!
