Yall. Last weekend was one of my favorites here in the city. Feel like running through it?

On Friday, I found a new T.J. Maxx in the financial district. Just being in the financial district and seeing everything all lit up, it looked erie but I was intrigued. I want to go exploring. I walked by Tiffany’s and it looked lonely. I know it wants me to come visit and as soon as I get myself on a budget, I will.

But back to T.J. Maxx.

So this is where all the good stuff is, you guys. I found Diane von Furstenburg shoes. Blue suede with a fun cut-out. I wanted to wear them home. That idea was short lived. I also found all sorts of good stuff for my Sauza de Blogo, er, faux Cinco de Mayo party hosted strictly for my blog. Dishes, pitchers, serving trays, table cloths. Basically, I carried half my weight home on the train. So wearing the shoes home, no matter how bad I wanted that Carrie Bradshaw moment, wasn’t happenin’.

But it was all worth it because the faux Cinco de Mayo party was better than I could have imagined. A friend from elementary school came and she fit in perfectly with my roommate and my friends from college. Isn’t that a good feeling? Plus, my friends got along with my roommate’s friends. We played charades, we told stories, we had a good time. I was very pleased that we relocated the party when the snacks ran out.

Such a perfect New York night.

So Sunday, I wake up excited to be in my room because it’s clean. This is a big thing after living out of suitcases for so long so don’t judge. I clean up from the night before while Sex and the City: The Movie was on. Smiling to myself as I do the dishes. I still can’t believe I’m here. It’s starting to feel like home, though. I found an eyebrow lady. She didn’t make my brows too thin and even created a better shape from them to grow into. And, I can walk to the shop! I figured out that there is a DryBar on the Upper East Side, I’ll try that soon. All I need is a nail shop and my neighborhood will start to feel like home for real, for real (LOL! I always wonder what the opposite of that saying is, for play play?).

I loved scouting out new places as I ran my errands yesterday wearing this outfit. This cape thing, is my new favorite sweater I found during my duties as a #MaxxStyleScout. Expect to see it a lot. Just warning you. How was your weekend? What did you do?
