Last Wednesday starting with Heidi Klum shooting down a question I asked her and ended with Kate Spade lip-shaped sunglasses.

I was so proud of myself, I rehearsed my question so many times while I waiting to speak with the Project Runway judge so that it would sound intelligent yet natural. I didn’t stutter when the words left my mouth and her response? “Oh, I don’t know, I’m not talking about that today.”

Ohhhhhkay.

It only could go up from there, right?

Before I left the event, I interviewed celebrity chef Cat Cora and she was a treat. She shared helpful ways busy girls on the go can eat healthy and make their kitchens look like they use them for something other than storage. Nice.

I head back to the office to write all this up before heading to the next event with Jonathan Adler and The Rug Company. I had written questions before I left the office after an expansive Google search. It paid off. Mr. Adler told me I asked really good questions and he was so fun to speak too.  When I asked him to sign my copy of his book included in the gift bag, he said that he would love too and that I was “so cute.”

Just when I thought the day could get any better, I head into the Solstice sunglasses boutique for a fun summer kick off with the likes of Bevy Smith and Chef Roble. I ran into Leah from Elle.com, we were in Bermuda together and it’s nice to see a familiar face. We’re told we can pick any pair of sunglasses in the back of the store. Cue love struck emoji.

I chose a pair of lip-shaped Kate Spade sunnies from the Fall/Winter 2013 collection. When I took them up to get the case, the guy helping me said he’d been waiting for someone to chose those, weirdly cute glasses. I wait around to see what interviews I can get, shifting my weight from one foot to the next. You know the dance you do when your feet hurt?

Which reminds me, all this running in heels–not that I’m complaining–is really starting to do a number on my feet. I swap out for flats but even still that’s not working. And I can’t not wear heels because I don’t feel so hot in flats. Heels give me, as the littlest Kardashian Kourtney says, the confidence of a Queen. What are your comfiest heels? What brands don’t give your feet any problems? Do tell!

(I actually do have a pair of comfy heels but the taps came off and it sounds like I’m walking on metal which is super tacky-sounding and I haven’t had time to get to the cobbler but I still want suggestions.)
