I think you should know something. Target and I have been seeing a lot of each other lately. We’re practically besties. Two Mondays ago, Target presented its Fall 2013 collection in its very first runway show. Not only did I attend, but I was invited backstage to get all of the deets for you all–which I will do in a series of posts. Today, though, I want to talk about a trend on the mouths of fashionable girls everywhere.

Bold lips.

Pier 59 was the stage for the retailer to show their trends off to the masses and they did it #TargetStyle with a bullseye on the runway, dancers and a conveyor belt that brought the models out. Speaking of models, remember Tocarra? She was there! I spotted her backstage getting her bold lips touched up.

And then again on the runway with some of my favorite looks.

After the show, Target had a cocktail hour with those in attendance. I took the time take advantage of the goodies handed out in addition to the drinks. I picked up Pixi’s Succulent Lip Twin used on the models. Also, Petra Strand, Pixi’s founder, may or may not have given me free reign over the makeup table backstage. I took one of everything but somehow missed picking that up for bold lips. Obvi, I corrected that after the show.

So guise. My new favorite combo in life is to wear Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Wild Thing with Petra’s Succulent Lip Twin in Pink Peony dabbed in the middle of my lips for a bold look. All, like the every single thing featured in their fashion show, available right now in store and on Target.com.

Leading to my next point about seeing Target often. I was sportin’ this combo when I went to see Janelle Monae at her album release party with Target. Surprisingly, her mouth was nude. Though, Monae look-a-likes were handing out Covergirl lipstick in the shade Hot Passion, which I also took advantage of. Are you noticing a trend when it comes to beauty products and me?

Back, to Janelle though. She isn’t wearing bold lips but isn’t she a beautiful electric lady? I’m a fan, Target really knows how to throw a party!

    I certainly remember T in ANTM loved her feisty character & voluptuous figure! I’m just getting into makeup & bold lips are an easy way in so I’m looking to add some orangey lipstick to my red ones…

    I’m not a regular make up wearer but I really wanna try a berry color lip sick.  I saw Beyonce wearing it and it looked really pretty.  I’ve never been into lip sick, I’m more of a lip gloss kinda girl. I’m gonna go to Target and try it!!
