On Wednesday, I ventured into Harlem (my very first time!) to visit The Back Room Spa at Carol's Daughter for a preview of the treatments the nail salon is offering during Spa Week.

You're familiar with Restaurant Week, yes? Spa Week is the beauty version of that. Ladies, you need to get into it. You can indulge in $50 spa treatments at participating spas and salons.

Like The Back Room Spa at Carol's Daughter. The spa has a non-traditional set-up and tons of nail polish to choose from.
Like OPI, Essie, Ginger & Liz, Chanel and even Deborah Lippmann-- a first for me. This is the first time I had high-end nail polish to choose from in a nail salon. It was a daunting task...
So obviously, I had to take advantage of the selection of Deborah Lippmann polishes. I mean, wouldn't you?

I chose Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe.
After choosing my polish, I sat and took in the beautiful ambience with my mimosa. They really know how to make a girl feel special.
Once my manicurist Lakendra got started on my hands and feet, I was in heaven. I won't show yall pictures of that, I don't want to scare you with my unpolished digits.

But Lakendra was gorgeous and super sweet. She didn't seem to mind me being so chatty and asking her all types of nail questions. Yall know I have an obsession.

I can't tell you ladies how much I enjoyed my time at The Back Room Spa at Carol's Daughter. My Sweet Almond Treat Manicure and Pedicure with cuticle treatment and gift with purchase of Almond Cookie Frappe Body Lotion (smells soo good) hit the spot!

My mani is heavenly too. The blue and green sequins look like they are suspended in navy jelly. It's perfection, I tell you!

P to the S: Word on the street is Icing Force of Love (sold at Claire's) is a close dupe.
Though The Back Room Spa is located in New York, you get in some Spa Week indulgence in other states too. So my girls in North Carolina, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, Georgia and Michigan-- you can get in on the action too.

Just vist Spa Week's website. Select your state and see the participating salons/spa offering $50 treatments.

Spa Week officially kicks off October 10th and lasts through the 16th. Though the deals are usually extended longer than the week, I would go ahead and book an appointment now if you are interested.

Oh, and my New Yorkers, if you go to visit The Back Room Spa, tell Lekendra that Channing said, "Hey girl, hey!"

Yes, you need to check it out! The whole time I was there I was like my mother would love this! I even told the manicurist we would be back, LOL!

The Back Room looks relaxing and inviting. Just like you I started using deborah lippmann lacquer and I like it a lot. Haven't used a glitter one yet, they're usually so hard to remove. Let me know how it does after you've taken it off.

Ms. Eclechick, I need you to try the glitters! They are ah-mazing. I first fell in love with Today Was A Fairytale, and the removal wasn't too bad.

All Across The Universe I had to work at, though. I probably should have used the foil method (place cotton ball soaked in polish remover and wrap nail in foil to hold it in place) so it would have slide right off.
