We Are, Because He Was 01/27/2012
Yesterday, I watched JoePa's memorial service, it has me feeling especially reminiscent and missing those (now) seemingless carefree days at University Park. Want to go through some pictures with me? This was me my freshman year at Penn State. Please excuse my bad skin, dang-near-almost freshman 15 and whiskered jeans. Those gorgeous girls are two of my best friends and I would never have met them if it wasn't for Penn State. When we met back in '05, we were so young and excited to make our mark on the world. Now, to actually see these ladies taking the steps to do so is inspiring. The ups, the downs, the crazy parties, that time we all sat on the bed crying to Beyonce's Resentment (yeaaaah, I just said that), I'm thankful to Penn State for the women that we are growing into. I know that there are a lot of you reading in college right now. Whether or not you went to Penn State, this will truly be some of the most trying yet exciting times of your life. And those people that stick with you on the ride? They aren't just your friends, they become your family. Joe Paterno helped turn Penn State into a family. Hopefully, we'll continue to do his legacy Penn State proud. I mean how could you not after watching this? Did you all have great college memories as well? Any advice for those in college reading now? CommentsSerena 01/27/2012 1:25pm

Soo glad you met such wonderful ppl in college. I have 3 girls I met my freshman year and we back best friends and roomies our last 3 years. Even today we are still close. Good friends are hard to find and when you do find them, don't allow anything to get in between you guys.
