I pour over a vast selection of magazine every month. I rip pages out of outfits I would like to try, tips/advice and stories that inspire me. I put them all in a magazine collage covered binder for later reference. On the spine of the binder I have “Chan’s Inspiration” in a Sharpie.

Needless to say, magazines are very important to me. A lot of people may scoff at magazines and the fashion industry but one woman gets it.
She understands that there can be valuable info on those glossy pages. So much so that she decided to spend a year of her life following the advice of magazines only. She dedicated each month to learning something new. I thought my inspiration book was cool but Up For Renewal: What magazines taught me about love, sex and starting over was so interesting.
In the author, Cathy Alter’s journey to start over with the help expertise of the top women’s magazines she found much more than inspiration. She found herself.I loved this book. It was such a fun read. Are you addicted to magazines too? Do you think this woman is crazy for only following advice found in magazines?
