Thursday night, I ventured into New York City for what Mizani was calling a ‘Night of Transformations’ at the L’Oreal Academy.

When I walked into the venue, I was a little apprehensive about the oil. I have oily skin so anytime I hear anything oil, I raise my hands in protest.

When VP of Sales and Education for Mizani Howard Lewis applied the oil to my hands, my protest turned into sequels of amazement. ‘It’s so light,’ I kept saying over and over, and it really is. One of the selling points is that the oil can be used to moisturize your body and shave. Another one of Mizani’s faces in the place, David, joking added the oil could be used for massages.

All of that is cool, but does the oil do what it’s supposed to? The answer is yes.  The oil is very light, it can be used to blow dry your hair, or flat iron or air dry. Here’s the kicker though. It’s not just for African American women. It is for all women with all 8 curl patterns. Seriously, look at the hair models:

The product is 99% all natural, the 1% for the vanilla fragrance. The ingredients in the oil were incorporating into the drinks, there was a Supreme Cocktail served by male models! You can’t beat that. While we are on the subject of the food, can I just share what the hor d’oeuvres looked like? How’s this for presentation?

All in all the event was hit. The product is lovely, the beats and the food were great, and to top it off they sent you home with a gift bag with a bottle of Supreme Oil, D’Tangle Moisturizing Leave-In Milk, a cranberry body scrub from the Body Shop, an issue of Essence Hair and a fair trade chocolate bar…niiiice.
