Rest in Peace, Elizabeth Taylor

Rest in Peace, Elizabeth Taylor

When I was growing up, I couldn’t really fathom what it meant to be a Hollywood icon, or what it used to be.

I thought all movies stars were supposed to be glamourous, gorgeous, have a beautiful husband(s) and tons of jewelry. Just like Elizabeth Taylor.

My mother used to wear her perfume, White Diamonds (when it first came out, it’s such a shame its sold at CVS now) and I used to try and sneak a spritz and pretend to be Ms. Taylor in all her full browed glory.

Can we just talk about for a second that Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were Carrie and Big, before Sex in The City was ever thought of?!

Seriously, they were married and divorce twice! Tell me those aren’t Carrie and Big shenagians?

I believe it was Richard Burton that sumed up his love the best, “She was gorgeous. She was lavish. She was a dark largesse. She was, in short, too bloody much.”

She was and we loved every bit of it.
