I read an article in The New York Times– What Would Estee Do?— that wondered how Estee Lauder would manage to compete with all of the diverse beauty brands out now.

The brand is making a great stab at attracting a wider clientele, if I may say so myself. I’d like to think that has something to do with Tom Pecheux, Estee Lauder’s Creative Director. When Tom joined last year, he brought with him pure color. Literally.

Though I never considered myself in Estee Lauder’s targeted demographic, I have greatly reconsidered that since the launch of the Pure Color line. I can’t get enough of the fun, bright colors. Oh, and the pretty packaging doesn’t hurt.

You know what else I can’t get enough of? These five products:

Limited Edition Pure Color Velvet Lipstick in Fuschia Velvet

In my never-ending quest for the perfect pink mouth, I think this is amazing. And so fun–I told you this Pure Color line was great.

Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

This foundation stays in place, fights oil, and looks like my skin but better.  I typically wear mineral foundations but this is slowly becoming my favorite.

Limited Edition Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee

This product is super cool, and really new not just to me, but to Estee Lauder as well. This innovative tri-blend liquid, powder, gel formula goes “beyond face powder to give you a sexy, sophisticated glow.”
