Blue Skies and Sunshine

Blue Skies and Sunshine

This is completely random but do you ever wonder why it is on some days everyone seems to be wearing the same color? Am I weird for thinking about stuff like that? For instance, when I got dressed this morning, I chose a bright orange skirt and a black long-sleeved t-shirt and a black sweater tights and boots. My boss wore a similar color combo but with cropped pants. Same with my co-worker but she had her bright red on top and black on the bottom. Have you ever thought about what attracted us all to the same color?

Over the weekend, I went home for my mom’s Stella & Dot party. She get’s dressed first and heads downstairs to help the stylist set up, I mosey down just as the party is getting started and what are my mom, the Stella & Dot stylist and I wearing? Cobalt blue.

I know, I know. Cool story, bro.

Is there a science to choosing colors in the morning when we get dressed? Or is it just random? I could have misheard in some math class I had years ago, but isn’t randomness a pattern, too?

Let me stop, I don’t know numbers. I’m a writer. Seriously, you should see a bunch of writers out to dinner trying to figure out how much we each should put in. You just know that we were are among our friends we’re the ones like just tell me how much I owe.

I really would like to know if there is a why to explain how on a particular day, one color is picked over others. Seriously. Anyone know? Bueller?

I also think it is vital that you know today’s title is wholly influenced by one of my absolute favorite songs from The Princess & the Frog, “Dig A Little Deeper,” sung by Mama Odie.

Blame the color choice on Patone-Monaco blue, one of their color choices forSpring/Summer.  We are all anxious to spring into livelier colors.

T-shirts are wardrobe staples that can be worn with little or no thought. On a warm summer day, team them with a pair of jeans or shorts, slip on a pair of sneakers and you are totally good to go. On a cooler day, throw a jacket over the tee for a snug and warm appeal. What’s not to love about a garment as versatile as this?

As an added bonus, T-shirts are low maintenance and an array of good ones in your arsenal can easily take you through an entire season. Another advantage of updating your wardrobe with T-shirts is the fact that they are super affordable and won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
