Let me tell you, I’ve been getting on my own nerves lately. I’ve been doing a bad job of taking time for myself. I collapse in bed at night and literally spring myself from the bed in the mornings without doing my devotions or gratitude list.

I made two really stupid mistakes at work.

But the kicker was I was so in a rush to get my room together before my mom got here that I threw my phone in the washing machine.

I threw the sheets in my laundry bag, and my phone, carelessly on top, when I got to the washing machine, I threw the pile of towels in one machine, the sheets in another. I walk my to my apartment from the laundry room, get all the way back to my room, and remember my to set the timer on my phone to go put everything in dryers.

Phone’s not on my bed, it isn’t on the pile of stuff I’m organizing on the floor. I ask my roommate to call it and pray it has service, my phone normally drops calls if I don’t stand by the window.

Nope. The phone is not here. Walking back down to the laundry room, I’m like I had to have just sat it on the table. I don’t want to believe I lost it. It hits me where I last threw the phone. Squatting down in front of the machine with my white sheets, my barely-three-month-old iPhone 5 is going through the rinse cycle with the notification light on.

“This would make a cute picture,” I thought wanting to Instragram the moment. “Where’s my phone?”

D’oh.

I will say though, that now, much like my skirt, everything is coming up roses… now.
