Slow Smile

Slow Smile

There is a particular scene I think about in Girls whenever something happens that breaks in my favor.

It’s season 2, episode 7. Hannah is in the back of a cab, with Marnie and Adam (and his bike), a slow smile creeping onto her face right before the credits hit. She and Adam are officially dating.

A slow smile creeped onto my face as I walked to the train on Saturday. Had this been any other day,  would had been annoyed at the fact the 6 was running express between 14th and 125th—the stop I was closest to (33rd) and the one closest to my apartment would be skipped. And yet, there I was, walking to Grand Central station, dang near floating.

I’ve been playing around with this idea that would revamp my 5 Style Lessons series but I was really nervous to execute it. I finally took the first step to do so and the results are better than I could have imagined. I can’t wait to show you. It goes live on Thursday.

I’m giving my two week notice at my day job today. I’ve accepted a position that I’m really excited about. I wore this perforated leather ivory dress to the interview two weeks ago. I’m scared… but excited.

It’s a scary feeling when things that you’ve been praying for begin to manifest. I keep reminding myself that I’m ready. God wouldn’t have put those desires in my heart if he didn’t have plans to carry them out in decency and order (’long as I did my part).

But when I take the time to think about everything happening? Y’all.

I climbed out on the fire escape Sunday night with a glass of red, anticipating the super blood moon, that same slow smile creeping across my face.

Um. It literally starting raining while Angel was taking these pictures. That’s why my hair looks like that. Before the rain it looked like this.

Yasss! I’m so happy for you!

I loved this sentence: God wouldn’t have put those desires in my heart if he didn’t have plans to carry them out in decency and order (’long as I did my part). So true.

I literally have to remind myself that. Like I don’t feel this way for no reason. Thanks, Yaszy!

Congrats, Channing! These post are so inspiring.

    But this.

Words that I feel in my spirit. Yes. Amen to that!
