Why Don’t You… Rehab Your Skin with a Sheet Mask?

Why Don’t You’ is my weekly tribute to legendary editor Diana Vreeland who penned a column of the same name for Harper’s Bazaar for 26 years begging, “Don’t just be your ordinary dull self. Why don’t you be ingenious and make yourself into something else?”

I don’t know if I told you all this but I’m having a dry January. For last 30 days before my 30th birthday, I’m replacing wine with tea and making myself vlog every day until February 6th. I’ll report back.

Part of my self-care time is to sip my tea and read. Right now it’s I’ll Drink to That: A Life in Style with a Twist by Betty Halbreich. But also, to put on a mask. Usually, I mix Aztec Healing Clay with Bragg’s apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and honey but lately, I’ve been using sheet masks. There’s less to clean up.

I used this as an opportunity to ask Korean beauty expert Charlotte Cho, co-founder of Soko Glam and editor-in-chief of The Klog, how I can rehab my skin at home to gear up for the big three zero:

“It all starts with skin! Sheet masks are an easy and affordable way to prep your skin — especially the day or night before an event. The ingredients that plump up fine lines and banish dry flakes, so your skin can be glowing and dewy.”

Charlotte recommends the Skinfood Real Tea Gel Mask. A sheet mask soaked in rose extracts that will help hydrate the skin intensely.

But, she says, “for the best results, try the 7-day sheet mask challenge. Using a sheet mask every day for 7 days straight guarantees softer, supple more healthy looking skin!”
